Phantom in the Crowd

I jostle through this labyrinth
Of flesh and blood and bone
And own the face of none within
This crowded street, alone,
Connecting eye to eye, but no,
All furtive glances, done,
Like upright koi who blindly stroll
In focus elsewhere, shunned
Am I in this collective’s gait
Where dodging is too much
For crutches are so ponderous
When one offends by touch.
