Hi Janice!

I finally made it over to your beautiful website--and now I get congratulate you on your second book of poetry! I started reading your first book during the semester--which just finished up--and I very much enjoyed it. Here is the Emily Dickinson poem I mentioned at the convention:
"They shut me up in Prose –

As when a little Girl

They put me in the Closet –

Because they liked me “still” –

"Still! Could themself have peeped –

And seen my Brain – go round –

They might as wise have lodged a Bird

For Treason – in the Pound –

"Himself has but to will

And easy as a Star

Look down opon Captivity –

And laugh – No more have I – " Hope you and Emily are well! I'm looking forward to reading and reviewing your books this Summer! *~*~Rachaelanne Weiss

Hi Rachaelanne

Welcome here! And thank you so much for your kind words about my blog and book(s). :-)

That was such a fun convention, and I remember you mentioning this poem to me. Though I've read so much of her work, I missed this one. It is a very fascinating piece. Good on Emily Dickinson for speaking her mind, as always. I so appreciate that you shared this one with me. Loving it more each time I read it through!

Thank you so much, Rachaelanne! I look forward to your reviews, and to anything else you might like to share with me.

Wishing you a happy Summer,

JaniceT
